Terms of service

These terms govern access to PressWatch. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them and to the Acceptable Use Policy. If you use PressWatch for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.

What PressWatch provides

PressWatch monitors selected public sources, identifies new or changed items, applies user-configured matching rules, and sends notifications. It is a messenger and workflow tool—not a publisher, broker, investment adviser, law firm, accounting service, rating agency, or verification service.

Publisher-supplied headlines and destination content are not rewritten, edited, endorsed, or independently verified by PressWatch. The service may normalize link tracking and whitespace and creates separate metadata such as categories, fingerprints, match explanations, timing, and update indicators. Source content remains subject to the publisher's own terms and rights.

No advice; your decisions

Alerts and generated metadata are provided for general information and workflow support only. They are not financial, investment, trading, legal, tax, accounting, compliance, medical, or other professional advice, and are not a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, vote, enter into a transaction, or take—or refrain from—any action.

You are solely responsible for reviewing the original source, checking accuracy and context, obtaining appropriate professional advice, and deciding whether and how to act. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PressWatch is not responsible for decisions, transactions, losses, or other actions taken or not taken in reliance on an alert, classification, headline, link, or other service output.

Coverage, accuracy, and availability

PressWatch does not guarantee that a source is complete, current, authentic, continuously available, or checked in real time. Publishers may delay, alter, remove, block, or mislabel content. Network failures, source redesigns, filtering rules, duplicate detection, email delivery, maintenance, or other events may cause missed, delayed, duplicated, incomplete, or incorrectly categorized alerts. A “verified” source means its ownership and output were reviewed; it does not guarantee every item or statement is accurate.

Your account and responsibilities

• Provide accurate account information and keep credentials confidential.
• Promptly report suspected unauthorized access and review active sessions.
• Configure and test sources, rules, recipients, and notification settings appropriate for your use.
• Use the service lawfully and respect source terms, intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, technical controls, and the Acceptable Use Policy.
• Do not treat PressWatch as the sole control for time-critical, regulated, safety-critical, or loss-prevention decisions.

Plans, billing, and changes

Plans may limit monitors, check frequency, history, integrations, or other features. Paid subscriptions renew at the interval shown at checkout until cancelled. Prices, taxes, trial or promotional terms, payment-failure treatment, and cancellation timing are shown during purchase or in the billing portal. Changes to a plan take effect as described at the time of change. Mandatory refund and cancellation rights remain unaffected.

Third-party services and content

PressWatch links to and depends on third-party publishers and service providers. We do not control their content, availability, security, or policies and are not responsible for them. Links do not imply endorsement. You are responsible for complying with terms that apply when you access a third-party destination.

Analytics choices

PressWatch plans to use Google Analytics to understand website usage and improve the service. Analytics is optional, is separate from acceptance of these terms, and will remain disabled unless you allow it through the cookie banner. You may reject or later withdraw analytics consent without losing access to PressWatch. Details are provided in the Privacy Notice.

Intellectual property

PressWatch and its software, design, branding, and generated service metadata are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You retain rights in monitoring rules and other content you submit. You grant PressWatch a limited licence to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. Publisher content remains owned by its publisher or other rights holder.

Suspension and termination

You may delete your account through Settings. We may limit, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address non-payment, unlawful or abusive use, security risk, harm to a source or other user, material breach of these terms, or legal requirements. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue. Provisions intended to survive termination—including payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits—continue to apply.

Service disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PressWatch is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, completeness, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PressWatch will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for lost profits, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, anticipated savings, or data arising from use of or inability to use the service. Any aggregate liability cap and its relationship to fees paid must be finalized in the commercial terms after legal review.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable, or mandatory consumer and data-protection rights.

Changes, law, and contact

We may update the service or these terms to reflect product, security, legal, or operational changes. Material changes will be communicated reasonably in advance when required. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. The governing law, competent courts, contracting entity, and required consumer-dispute information must be stated in the final commercial terms for the operator's jurisdiction.
